Masked Singer fans ‘work out’ Dressed Crab is 90s pop star saying ‘it’s so clear it’s him’
FANS of The Masked Singer think they have ‘worked out’ the identity of Dressed Crab.
So far, the clues have included an American football helmet and NFL mask, film roll, and three clocks with times for London, Miami, and Tokyo.
Fans have been trying to guess the identity of Dressed Crab[/caption] Fans think Curtis Stigers might be the person behind the mask[/caption] The US singer had a string of hit tracks back in the 90s[/caption]Previous suggestions included ex-NFL linebacker Terry Crews, ex-Strictly star Jason Bell, Randy Newman, Billy Ocean and Clarke Peters.
However, fans of The Masked Singer now have another name entirely in mind, and they think it’s a 90s star.
Curtis Stigers, 59, is an American jazz singer who is best known for the 1991 song, I Wonder Why.
The track reached number five on the official UK Singles Chart and his first self-titled album reached number seven.
It has also been certified two times Platinum by the BPI (British Phonographic Industry).
A follow-up single titled ‘You’re All That Matters to Me’ reached number six on the UK charts the following year in 1992.
Many fans of the long-running ITV guessing game took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to suggest his identity.
One fan claimed: “Dressed crab sounded like Curtis Stigers.”
A second stated: “Curtis Stigers is definitely Dressed Crab – I am not even watching the show just heard it from across the room. Brilliant vocalist”
“Crab sounds just like Curtis Stigers! Whatever happened to him?,” asked a third viewer.
As a fourth noted: “I’m going Curtis Stigers for Crab.”
“Crab is Curtis Stigers I’m sure,” suggested someone else.
While a sixth added: “Admittedly basing this purely on 30 seconds but that crab thing is Curtis Stigers”
It seems the sentiment continues on social media forum site Reddit where one fan wrote: “I’m glad to find someone who’s with me on this! The voice sounds exactly like him to me.”
Who has left The Masked Singer 2025 so far?
Much to the delight of telly fans, The Masked Singer is back in 2025.
Twelve celebrities have been hidden behind intricate costumes, with their identities concealed.
Sadly, not all of this year’s whacky and wonderful characters can make it to the end of the show, as there can only be one winner.
Here’s who has been unmasked so far:
Tattoo – despite Davina McCall saying “you sound the same” after this character was unmasked, none of the judges guessed it was 80s singer Carol Decker, whose hit China In Your Hand was a No1 hit for five weeks
Toad In The Hole – a massive diva strop saw the character storm off the stage after the judges voted them off. They later returned to be unmasked as singer Macy Gray
Pegasus – the mythical horse was revealed to be Prue Leith, with judge Jonathan Ross correctly guessing her identity
Spag Bol – this character was first to be unmasked and was none other than Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway.
Plus there was one extra unmasking this season, with Giant Joel – a caricature of host Joel Dommett – unveiled as double-double Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah.
The Masked Singer continues on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
