Judd Trump quits UK and moves to Middle East as snooker star reveals plans for totally different lifestyle
JUDD TRUMP is shipping out his practice tables to the Middle East as he formalises his full-time departure from the UK.
The Bristol-born potter, 35, divides his time these days between the UAE and Hong Kong, where his girlfriend, the leading figure skater Maisy Ma, is based.
Trump – who faces David Grace in the German Masters first round in Berlin on Monday – is spending less and less time these days in his home country.
The world No.1 said: “My practice tables are getting taken out next week so it’s pretty permanent now.
“My main base will be in Dubai but my girlfriend lives in Hong Kong.
“I have residence in both Dubai and Hong Kong so I’ll be split between them depending where the tournaments are.
“It’s very different, completely different from what I’m used to.
“I’m used to my old life of just going to practice and then sitting at home all night, every day.
“Now there’s a lot more opportunities to do different things.
“It’s a more outdoorsy lifestyle, living in those different places, a lot more time after snooker to spend in the sun, or go to the beach or whatever.
“It’s a bit better and more inspiring than being in the miserable weather for months.”
It comes after Trump suggested he is gunning for an even more luxurious purchase than the array of expensive cars he has bought.
As he heads towards £9million in career earnings, he’s already splashed out on a BMW i8, Ferrari 430 Spider, Lamborghini and a Rolls Royce.
And when questioned on what he might buy next, Trump joked: “I think I want a yacht next! I think I want a yacht.”
