It should be a rather enjoyable night for Arne Slot’s Liverpool as they travel to Eindhoven for a clash against PSV.

It’s set to be a chaotic night of Champions League action across Europe with all 18 games being played at the same time with 25 of the 36 teams still awaiting their fate.

However, while the madness unfolds – Liverpool are safe in the knowledge that they have already progressed to the last-16, and will be guaranteed a top-two finish whatever happens.

It’s very well deserved given Slot’s side are the only team in the competition to have won all of their seven matches and banked a maximum 21 points, conceding just twice in the process.

They should also be buoyed by the fact they have won each of their last five meetings with PSV in the Champions League, and won 12 of their last 15 away games in the competition.

However, Slot may well use this dead rubber as an opportunity to rest his squad ahead of this weekend’s trip to the Vitality Stadium to take on in-form Bournemouth, followed a few days later by the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham.

PSV won’t be under too much pressure either having all-but secured safe passage to the play-offs after their 3-2 victory over Red Star last time out.

In fact, Dinamo Zagreb would require an 11-goal swing to overtake them.

Peter Bosz’s side are currently top of the Eredivisie by four points having scored an incredible 65 goals in 20 matches, but they’ve struggled defensively in recent weeks having shipped 11 in their last five.

Luuk de Jong could become PSV’s all-time top scorer in the European Cup/Champions League, with the Dutchman currently level with Romario on 11 goals.
