The series was set to depart the streaming platform this year, but an agreement was made with Sony Pictures Television to extend the licence, allowing fans more time to get their fix of the series before it leaves for good.

The series is based on high-school chemistry teacher Walter White who comes to terms with his stage three lung cancer diagnosis.

With the lead role played by Bryan Cranston, the series follows Walter as he turns to a life of crime where he produces and distributes methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman (played by Aaron Paul).

Taking to social media, fans have shared their frustration that the series will be gone.

One person wrote on X: “‘Why? This one the greatest series of all time.”

Another added: “Nooooo, we already lost @Wentworth @Wentworth_UK ,why @BreakingBad ? Y’all trying to take away my enjoyment. Better not touch trailer park boys. That’s my go to show. I’ll be devastated.”

“Noo. I don’t want it to go it’s such a good series,” said a third.

Another shared: “Breaking Bad is the only reason why Netflix gets my monthly payment. I watch Breaking Bad at least once a month start to finish, best TV series ever made. I’ll never get tired of it.”

However some fans did point out that the series isn’t going for another two years, leaving plenty of time to rewatch and set up a binge watch session.

One person joked: “Okay, so this gives me enough time to watch it 614 more times.”

Another said similar as they added: “Oof. Only 26 months to binge the entire series in 3 days again.”

Breaking Bad was first released in 2008, and won awards for its intense dramatic storyline.

The final episode aired in 2013, with over 10.3 million viewers and critics hailing it as one of the greatest television stories of all time.

The series has won multiple awards, including 16 Primetime Emmy Awards, 5 American Film Institute awards and 6 Critics’ Choice Television Awards.
