Claudia Winkleman vows to not take on any new TV work – saying ‘you won’t see me doing anything else’
CLAUDIA Winkleman has vowed to reject any new TV work after her success with Strictly and The Traitors.
The star, 53, returns to Channel 4 this month with the second series of her quiz show One Question.
It’s the latest programme to be added to her busy schedule along with other TV hits Strictly Come Dancing, The Traitors and The Piano.
She’s also set to fill in for Graham Norton as he takes a break from his award-winning chat show.
Her commitments make Claudia one of the busiest presenters on television but now she’s revealed she will turn down any new work.
Very content, she said: “I’m not doing anything else.
“I’ve been more than lucky and I think that’s enough. I do believe
– and I’m going to sound like my kids – in gratitude.
“I’m incredibly grateful. I love Strictly, I love The Traitors, I love The Piano, I love One Question and you won’t see me doing anything else.”
Last year Claudia quit BBC Radio 2 after 15 years on the airwaves, having most recently hosted a mid-morning Saturday slot.
Comedian Romesh Ranganathan replaced her, after Claudia explained to listeners how she wanted to spend more time with her children.
She is married to film producer Kris Thykier and the couple have three kids – Jake, Matilda and Arthur.
Claudia’s first major TV gig was on regional discussion programme Central Weekend in 1991, but her big break came when she took over from Bruce Forsyth on Strictly in 2014.
In 2002 she got her first daily TV role as a host on BBC Three show Liquid News.

Claudia Winkleman's career so far
Holiday (1992–1996): Claudia started her TV career as a travel show presenter, delivering segments from exotic locations.
Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two (2004–2010): Although she worked on a few shows between Holiday and Strictly, Claudia really came into her own as a presenter on this spin-off, where she could be seen offering behind-the-scenes gossip and interviewing contestants. She hosted It Takes Two from its inception until Zoe Ball took over from her in 2011.
Strictly Come Dancing (2014–present): After Sir Bruce Forsyth left the BBC show due to health concerns, Claudia joined Tess Daly as a co-host of the main show. This is one of the jobs Claudia is best known for.
Film 2010 (2010–2016): Claudia succeeded Jonathan Ross as the host of the BBC’s flagship film review show in 2010. She was praised by The Guardian for being a “passionate and engaging advocate of cinema” in this role.
The Great British Sewing Bee (2013–2016): Claudia brought her wit to the crafting competition for three years.
The Traitors (2022-present): Claudia’s dark hair and resting mysterious face have become synonymous with this hit reality show. Despite her attempts to leave after the first series in case future seasons flopped, BBC bosses were determined to keep her on, so it seems unlikely she’ll stop heading up the show anytime soon.
