Woman sexually assaulted in early morning attack as cops launch desperate appeal to track down man who fled scene

A WOMAN has been sexually assaulted in an early morning attack.

Cops have launched a desperate appeal after the assault which happened in the Barripper Road and Boundervean Lane area of Camborne, Cornwall.

The force said a man had sexually assaulted a woman before fleeing the scene on February 2.

Officers attended the area and a police cordon was put in place while they carried out further enquiries.

The cordon has since been lifted, Devon and Cornwall Police added.

The victim is currently being supported by specially trained officers.

Detective Inspector Claire Nicholls said: “We understand an incident such as this has caused some concern amongst the local community.

“We are doing all we can to track down the suspect and will provide updates as we have them.

“We are seeking the public’s help and would specifically like to hear from you if you have dashcam footage available and were driving in the vicinity of Barripper Road/Boundervean Lane/Pendarves Road between 00.44am and 1.35am on Sunday 2 February.
