I quit Mormon church to be on OnlyFans – my mother-in-law once BURNED her hubby’s laundry after I touched it by mistake

A FORMER member of the Mormon church has claimed her mother-in-law once burned her husband’s clothes when she touched them by mistake whilst doing laundry.

OnlyFans creator Kari Keone, who was in the church in the ’90s, explained why her mother-in-law immediately discarded her partner’s ”magic underwear” in the garden.

The undergarments are formally known as ‘temple garments’, and contain ancient symbols embroidered into the fabric[/caption]

The undergarments are formally known as ”temple garments” and feature ancient symbols embroidered into the fabric.

”I got married super young — at age 22 — and we lived with my Mormon mother-in-law and father-in-law for a bit because my husband had some debt we were paying off,” Kari posted to X, formerly known as Twitter

”I accidentally touched his dad’s magic underwear doing laundry and his mum cut the runes out of it and burned them in the backyard,” she shared.

She explained that the underwear set – which is made up of a white top and matching shorts designed to be worn under clothing – have special religious markings on them sometimes known as ”runes”, which his mother removed after the incident.

”One cool fact about the magic underwear is that you’re never supposed to take it off. This includes sex. You’re supposed to have sex with the underwear on at all times.”

As per the Latter-day Saints website, temple garments should be treated in the same way as religious vestments of other faiths.

Ridiculing or making light of sacred clothing is highly offensive to Latter-day Saint.

Since the 1840s, male and female Mormons alike have worn special sacred temple garments – which is a set of boxer brief-style shorts and a matching T-shirt that are both kept on under the clothes day and night – while working, exercising, and sleeping

The undergarments symbolise their commitment to the Mormon church and its teachings.

In 2021, some Mormon women bravely spoke to the New York Times about the sacred garments, describing the itchy synthetic fabric, pinching waistbands that caused discomfort, and fabric that doesn’t breathe — which can lead to yeast infections.

Despite wanting these problems to be rectified, the women admitted that they were too embarrassed to discuss the issue with male leaders.

”People are scared to be brutally honest, to say ‘This isn’t working for me. It isn’t bringing me closer to Christ, it’s giving me UTIs‘,” one woman explained.

”To church members, the modest temple garment, worn under normal clothing, along with the symbolic vestments worn during temple worship, represent the sacred and personal aspect of their relationship with God and their commitment to live good, honorable lives,” the Mormon church explained in a video uploaded on the internet in 2014.

As these garments are meant to be worn all the time in place of traditional underwear, those following Mormonism own several pairs.

What are the beliefs of a Mormon?

Mormonism is centred on strong traditional family life and values.

And “sins” such as gambling, smoking, drinking alcohol, drugs, tea, coffee, homosexuality, pornography, and sex outside of marriage are forbidden.

Mormons hold fast to the belief that God has a physical presence and is married and can have children.

They also believe that mankind can become gods after they die.

Ex-Mormons often take to social media to share their experiences of living in a Mormon household.

One of them, Jennie Gage, recently explained how she couldn’t afford to feed her four kids as a former Mormon tradwife of 24 years.

Jennie, who was a Mormon for over four decades, had to rebuild her entire life and was “barely scraping by” at times.

The mum-of-four would sit “crying in [her] car” because she couldn’t afford food and lived in a flat she could “barely afford” with her four children.

Despite the initial hardship, the now 50-year-old has no regrets of leaving the church.

“I can safely say, despite it all, leaving the tradwife lifestyle was the best decision of my life,” Jennie told What’s The Jam.

“I’ve just celebrated my six-year anniversary since leaving the Mormon church and losing my marriage – and I’m finally starting to find a new normal.

“After 24 years of marriage and 44 years of Mormonism, it has taken a long time to recover from the loss of my faith and husband.

“It feels like it has taken so long to start to build a little life for myself after losing everything – but I’m slowly getting there.

“Though, it’s not been easy.

“Not long ago, I was crying in my car because I couldn’t afford groceries.

“We had to move out of the home we were renting from a family member, which was a huge shock and financial burden.

Why can Mormons have multiple wives?

Polygamy, or having more than one marital partner, was taught by the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for more than half of the 19th century.

The tradition was stopped, however, over a century ago and mainstream churches even excommunicate anyone who practices it.

Despite this, many people still hold the misconception that all Mormons are involved in polygamous relationships.

That being said, there are fundamentalist offshoots of the mainstream Mormon Church which still continue to practice polygamy.

“It was very sad.

“Instead, my children and I moved into a tiny apartment, which we can barely afford.”

Jennie, from Arizona, US, decided to leave her faith and marriage for good in October 2018.

Since then, she’s worked hard to achieve a life of security for herself and her family, including her children aged 28, 24, 21 and 15.

She used to run a furniture-flipping business but no longer has the space to do this so is “working hard to replace [her] income”.

The mum is determined to help other women.

She has set up a new business, called Man Proof Your Life, a programme dedicated to helping women avoid and recover from the tradwife life.
