Coronation Street’s Daisy Midgeley finally reveals who her baby’s father is next week – before dramatic 12 week scan
CORONATION Street’s Daisy Midgeley drops a major bombshell next week as she finally spills the truth about her baby’s father.
Corrie favourite Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) has been keeping tight-lipped about her baby’s dad, leaving fans speculating.
But the truth is finally out next week as she makes a jaw-dropping confession.
ITV viewers know that at Christmas, Daisy discovered she was pregnant with the baby of ex Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) or new lover Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Daisy told Kit he was the father. However, when Bethany and Daniel flaunted their engagement in her face… Daisy couldn’t resist exposing Daniel’s cheating in front of a pub full of people.
Kit was stunned to learn he wasn’t the only possible father and declared he wanted nothing to do with her.
Meanwhile, Bethany dumped Daniel, leaving him furious with Daisy.
Jenny ordered a DNA test, but Daisy refused to read the results, vowing to raise her baby alone.
However, when Daisy was rushed to the hospital after a pregnancy scare, both Kit and Daniel had a change of heart, deciding they would step up if they were the father.
But who is the dad?
Upcoming scenes will see Daisy drop not one, but two bombshells next week in Coronation Street – leaving Jenny stunned and her own emotions in turmoil.
First, she reveals she’s been offered a dream job as an au pair in Paris, but will Jenny support her decision or beg her to stay?
Then comes the moment of truth – Daisy finally confirms who the father of her baby is.
But is it Daniel’s or Kit’s?
As she attends her 12-week scan, emotions run high.
But when the sonographer moves the monitor, Daisy panics and bolts from the room.
Charlotte is a big loss for Corrie
THE Sun’s Soaps Editor Carl Greenwood reveals why this is a big loss for Corrie bosses
LOVE her or hate her, Daisy Midgeley injected some much-needed fire into Coronation Street when she joined in 2020.
From those early days as a scheming villain who crashed into former step-mother Jenny Connor’s life intent of causing chaos wherever she went, actress Charlotte made her mark.
But remarkably she did something much greater with Daisy – she made her human.
Over the years Daisy has kept her scheming ways but matured into a fully-rounded classic Corrie character who viewers adore.
Tasked with huge storylines like the acid attack – Charlotte’s proven she’s a great actress and she’s bound to have a bright future.
Losing Charlotte will be a tough blow for the soap – especially with the temporary exit of Lucy Fallon to maternity leave.
The cobbles are really lacking in younger female characters who aren’t Dee-Dee Bailey – and it’s beginning to show.
Corrie sparkles best with its succession of strong women – and it’s going to be difficult to replace Charlotte but they’ll have to find a way to do it and soon.
What’s shaken her up so badly?
However, Daisy will be leaving the cobbles later this year as the actress has confirmed her exit from the soap.
Tipped as ‘the new Michelle Keegan’, 28-year-old Charlotte has played barmaid Daisy Midgeley for four years.
She has told sources that despite “loving the show” she is hungry to see what other opportunities await.
She said: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish.
“It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much.
“After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.”
Corrie legend Sally Ann Matthews has declared she is “gutted” after learning her co-star Charlotte has quit.
Taking to social media platform Bluesky, she shared her disappointment at the news of her departure.
Sally Ann simply wrote online: “#Gutted x.”
Replying, one fan said: “Sal I’m heartbroken. Tell her no x.”
And another pleaded: “Don’t let Daisy take Jenny with her.”
Since arriving in 2020 Daisy has been part of the soap’s biggest moments including her stalking ordeal and a plot which saw her take over the Rovers with stolen money.
She won the British Soap Award for Best Dramatic Performance after Daisy was the victim of a wedding day acid attack by Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still).
Soap bosses have teased that an explosive storyline has been scripted for her exit.
