Sky Q to close FIVE TV channels in days – and list of exact numbers to type to find new additions

0

TELLY fans are about to lose five channels on Sky – but don’t panic, they’re getting replacements.

If you’ve got Sky Q (or any Sky satellite service), Sky Glass, or Sky Stream, you’ll be affected by the changes.

A Sky employee revealed the upcoming changes that are all taking place at the very beginning of March.

Some of the channels vanishing include Sky Assassins and Sky Family.

Sky regularly closes down channels to keep its TV guide fresh.

Typically they’re replaced at the same time – except when a service is fully shuttered, like the recent closure of Eurosport.

Sometimes channels are only being temporarily changed to mark certain moments in a year.

And other times channels are reverting back from these temporary changes – or switching to something else entirely.

Sky typically only reveals its upcoming channel changes for about a week in advance.

So we only have a list of channel changes that will take place up until Saturday, March 8.

The Sky employee also warned that the list – which we’ll share below – “may still change”.

And we’ve got exact number codes that you can tap in on your remote to find the new channels that are replacing the old closed ones.

SKY TV CHANNEL CHANGES FOR MARCH 2025

Here’s what we’re expecting…

Monday, March 3

  • Sky Fast (Satellite 307/851 – Sky Glass/Stream 307) renames to SkyMartialArts / Martial Arts HD (temporary change)
  • Sky Assassins (Satellite 309 – Sky Glass/Stream 309) renames to Sky Thriller HD (reverting from a temporary change)
  • Sky Family (Satellite 306/850 – Sky Glass/Stream 306) renames to Sky Kids Books and SkyKidsBooksHD (temporary change)

Tuesday, March 4

  • Sky Award Winners (Satellite 304/849 – Sky Glass/Stream 304) renames to SkyWomenInFilm/ WomenInFilmHD (temporary change)

TRY THESE SKY TRICKS!

Got Sky Q? There are some handy tricks worth knowing about...

Find your lost TV remote

If you can’t find your Sky Q remote, don’t panic.

Just press the Sky Q logo on the front of your TV box.

It’s actually a button that will trigger your TV remote’s built-in ringer.

You’ll get 30 seconds of beeping to find where you’ve dropped it. Hint: it’s probably under the sofa cushion.

Search movies by quotes

You might have already used voice search for controlling TV playback – but your remote’s microphone has another clever trick.

It turns out that you can say movie quotes into the remote and Sky will find the film for you.

This is handy if you can’t remember the name of a top movie or show.

Here’s a list of movie quotes to try on Sky.

Save lost recordings

Have you ever deleted something you’d recorded on Sky, only to regret it later?

Or maybe someone in your family removed something without telling you – sparking a massive row.

Don’t panic: you can get them back.

Just go to Recordings > Manage > Deleted and then simply hit Undelete on the item that you want to resurrect.

If you do that, it’ll return to your Recordings section as good as new.

Saturday, March 8

  • Sky Ultimate Action (Satellite 302 – Sky Glass/Stream 302) renames to SkyOriginalsHD (temporary change)

Sky often makes seasonal changes, so these swaps aren’t a big surprise.

For instance, Sky Awards Winners is closing down as the movie awards season comes to an end – with the Oscars due on March 2, 2025.

So Sky Awards Winners will shut down two days later, swapping to Sky WomenInFilm instead.
