The dad of four’s estate was worth £337,901, cut to £327,901 after costs.

The full sum goes to his wife of 50 years, Judith.

Ex-university lecturer Sir Tony entered the Commons in 1983.

He became a Foreign Office minister and party chair.

In 2010 he quit for the £100,000-a-year Police and Crime Commissioner job in Manchester.

Five years later he was made mayor, holding the position for two years until stepping aside for Andy Burnham in 2017.

Later that year he was selected as Labour’s candidate for Rochdale.

He returned to Parliament with a huge majority and was knighted in 2021.
