Stacey Solomon’s clever hack to give herself ‘so much more space’ in the kitchen & makes prepping dinner less stressful

SOMETIMES, the kitchen can quickly become a place where mess develops – often turning into a dumping ground for everyone’s belongings.

And if you’re someone who stocks up on ingredients, trying to find extra space in your kitchen can feel a little overwhelming.

However, Stacey Solomon has revealed a clever hack to create ‘so much more space’ in her kitchen.

The mum-of-five took to her Instagram story to share the tip with her six million followers.

She used what appeared to be three A4-wide letter trays, which she hung at the end of her kitchen island.

The 35-year-old, who presents Sort Your Life Out on the BBC, managed to attach them using an electric drill.

Having these trays at the end of her kitchen island meant she could neatly store all her vegetables and fruit, including carrots, potatoes, onions, and apples.

She wrote: “So happy with this! I feel like I’m saving so much space and they’re right on the island ready for me to use for cooking

“They’re actually just metal office file holders but they’re strong and sturdy and blend in, I love them.”

She gained a lot of attention from this, with many people concerned that her dogs Teddy and Peanut might possibly eat them.

But in another post which showed her two youngest daughters Rose and Belle eating the carrots, she revealed: “lots of you worried the dogs might eat the carrots.

“Peanut and Teddy aren’t interested but these two on the other hand.”

Stacey has become famous for her savvy hacks, so much so her fans regularly share her hacks online.

We previously revealed how another one of Stacey’s top tips were shared by mums who praised it as a “complete game changer.”

This came after one homeowner sought help by taking to the online forum Mumsnet, as they noticed mould around her shower.

Sharing two separate pictures of the corners of her shower, she wrote: “I’m not sure if this is mould in the sealant; it won’t scrape off and looks grim.

“Does anyone have any tips?”

And one person replied with: “I saw a trick on an episode of Stacey Solomon‘s show to get rid of mould in sealant.

“I was very cynical and couldn’t believe it actually worked.

“Super simple – put a line of neat bleach on the mouldy bit, cover in cotton wool, and leave overnight.

“The manky mould disappears! It’s a complete game changer.”

Stacey Solomon's cleaning tips

IF you want a home that gleams like Stacey's, you'll need to listen up!

Label Everything: Stacey swears by the power of labelling. From pantry jars to storage bins, clear labels help keep everything organised and easy to find.

Daily Tidy Routine: Dedicate 15-20 minutes each day to tidying up. This prevents clutter from building up and makes weekly deep cleaning less daunting.

Baking Soda Magic: Stacey uses baking soda for a variety of cleaning tasks. It’s great for deodorising carpets, cleaning grout, and even freshening up mattresses.

Upcycle Containers: Repurpose old jars, tins, and containers to store cleaning supplies, craft materials, or kitchen ingredients. It’s both eco-friendly and cost-effective.

Shine with Vinegar: White vinegar is a staple in Stacey’s cleaning arsenal. It works wonders on windows, mirrors, and even limescale build-up in kettles.

Make It Fun: Turn on your favourite music or podcast to make cleaning less of a chore and more of a fun, productive activity.

Use a Toothbrush: For those hard-to-reach spots, a toothbrush can be an excellent tool. Use it to scrub grout lines, around taps, and in other small crevices.

Declutter Regularly: Stacey advises a regular declutter session to get rid of items you no longer need. This keeps your home neat and creates more space for the things you love.

Air Fresheners: Create your own natural air fresheners using essential oils. Stacey loves using lavender or citrus oils to keep her home smelling fresh.

Microfibre Cloths: These are essential for dusting and cleaning surfaces without leaving streaks. They are reusable and can be easily washed.

Incorporate these tips into your routine for a cleaner, more organised home, just like Stacey Solomon’s!
