Channel 4 in daytime schedule shakeup this week as fan-favourite series is ditched
CHANNEL 4 has ditched a fan-favourite series from screens in a schedule shakeup.
The broadcaster has pulled a planned episode of A Place in the Sun from its regular 3pm timeslot.
A schedule staple, last year the hit home hunting series marked its 22nd year on air.
But on Thursday it’s been ousted from its slot in favour of Crufts 2025.
The dog show runs from March 6th to 9th at the NEC Birmingham, with Clare Balding once again on presenting duties.
Like every year, Channel 4 will screen live coverage of the event as it happens.
On Thursday, C4’s scheduled programming will run as normal until 3pm when they’ll cross live to Crufts.
Coverage will run for just one hour before A New Life in the Sun airs at 4pm.
It will be the same on Friday, meaning fans’ afternoon visit to A Place in the Sun has been axed.
However, it’s prime time episode – which airs in The Simpsons’ old slot at 6pm – will continue as normal.
On Saturday, March 8, Channel 4 will clear their schedule from from 2pm, all the way up until 6pm.
Coverage will then resume from 7pm and run until 9pm.
On Sunday and the final day of Crufts 2025, live action will once again kick off at 2pm right through to 6pm.
An hour later, Clare Balding will be live once again as this year’s winning dog will be announced.
