Towie stars ‘fear Ella Wise split with Dan Edgar for fake showmance with CBB’s Chris Hughes’
TOWIE stars are convinced Ella Rae Wise dumped boyfriend Dan Edgar in a bid to have a “fake showmace” in Celebrity Big Brother.
A source told The Sun that Ella, 24, had set her sights on Love Island’s Chris Hughes, 32, before she had even split from Dan, 34.
They said that Ella wanted to be part of a “CBB love story” in order to “boost her chances of staying longer” on the ITV fly-on-the-wall show.
A source told The Sun: “Ella had already been telling pals over the past few weeks that she didn’t see a long-term future for Dan.
“It was clear their relationship was nearing the end and with Ella having managed to land CBB, she knew she wanted to give producers what they were after.”
They explained that Ella was aware that she is not as well know as some of the other housemates and knew she needed a romance storyline to secure the votes.
“She’s a smart girl and knows exactly how this industry works and why she makes good TV and with being one of the lesser known names on the cast, Ella told pals that she thought an on-screen romance would boost her chances of staying in the house long-term,” they said.
“As soon as she heard Chris Hughes would be living with her, she targeted him to be her next TV lover.
“There’s a reason her opening VT was all about flirting as she’s desperate to be part of the next CBB love story.”
The Sun have reached out to Ella rep and CBB for comment.
It comes after Dan was left totally “blindsided” by Ella after their split.
The Towie man has told pals that he’d thought the break-up was friendly until seeing her bragging about being “flirty” on her VT.
Ella, who once dated Pete Wicks, giggled: “I could literally float with a loaf of bread. I could flirt with anything! I’m flirting with the camera.”
The comments have left Dan bemused as he’d thought the break-up was amicable, pals say.
Clearing up the timeline, the friend said they broke up last Wednesday after a string of rows but remained in contact as pals.
The friend told The Sun: “They were still chatting after the big row on Wednesday as had both agreed it just wasn’t working.
“But everything was pretty amicable.
“They were just chatting as normal, the odd text and that, and spoke on Sunday just before she went into lockdown.
“But he was blindsided by the comments she made about being such a flirt last night, and how she flirted with everyone constantly, as that’s just not nice to hear.”
Speaking exclusively to The Sun just hours before she entered the nation’s most famous house, Ella confirmed the end of their 18 month relationship.
Ella said: “We are not together. And it’s really, really sad that we’re not together. We split up a week ago.
“It has nothing to do with Big Brother. It was a decision that I had to make because I didn’t feel that we were getting things that we wanted out of each other.
“We can be best friends, but if something’s missing, what are we wasting our time for?”
She went to explain that she and Dan are very different people.
“I just feel that he’s very set in his ways and I can’t change someone and I can’t expect someone to change either.
“And if he’s comfortable in how he is and if he thinks what he gives in a relationship is enough, that’s okay because that can be enough for someone.
“But it’s just not enough for me.”
