AC Milan legend Maldini defends his criticism of Rossoneri
AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini has defended his criticism of the club.
Maldini has regularly taken aim at Milan over the past two years.
“It's true that I was born and raised at Milan, but the most important thing I achieved in my life was independent thought," he told Sky Sport Italia.
“I know full well that it's much easier to tell people you care about that everything is wonderful, but it's much more useful to explain things the way they really are.
“My position of criticising Milan is purely out of love, because I still do love this club very much. If I can give something back to a club that gave me so much, I am happy to do so.
“However, I want to make my own decisions and this is apparently something that is complicated or could cause trouble. President Silvio Berlusconi made other choices."
