Everything We Want to See in Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season Two
Hulu is pulling up to the Swig drive-through to pre-game another round of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. According to TMZ, the streamer has reportedly picked up a second season, and the women will begin filming next week, which is just in time for winter in Utah. Does this mean we’re getting a treat of a Halloween episode? Or at least seeing more tricks from Whitney Leavitt? There just has to be a Christmas special. After all, the original eight women are all allegedly returning for more shenanigans. Here’s all the drama we hope gets discussed (or at least referenced in a TikTok dance) in season two.
Taylor and Dakota’s Breakup
In late September, Taylor Frankie Paul told Us Weekly that she and Dakota Mortensen “are not fully together, but not fully done” with their relationship. Dakota was reportedly not happy with how he was portrayed on the show and felt like he looked like an “asshole” to his pregnant girlfriend.
Our biggest question: Will Dakota have a “fool me once” attitude to a second season, or will he see it as a redemption arc to get Taylor back?
Whitney’s Villain Era
On TikTok, Whitney has been flip-flopping about how she wants to portray herself. When the show first aired, she decided to embrace her villain arc after fighting and failing with screenshots of conversations with the other women on the show. Now, a few weeks after the series premiere, she’s going on podcasts like the two Taylor Lautners’ The Squeeze to cry about how she has taken accountability for her actions on the show, like the Fruity Pebbles incident.
Our biggest question: Will she try to choose her own story arc for season two or will Hulu decide one for her?
Jen Returning to #MomTok
Jen Affleck told Vulture that she and her husband, Zac Affleck (allegedly not related to Ben or Casey), have been in “nonstop” therapy since the end of season one. Since filming ended, she reportedly moved to New York, as Zac had just started medical school — she made a TikTok about how she wants to go back to Utah using a High School Musical song with him. But less than a week ago, Jen was back to dancing in a house with a very Utah-looking layout, possibly back to film more episodes.
Our biggest question: Will Ben Affleck show up to address the rumors?
Whitney’s Husband, Connor, Addressing the TikTok Rumors
Connor Leavitt, stand up! Since Whitney and Connor’s marriage went mainstream, people have been … talking to say the least. Some fans of the show have wondered if Connor was actually on Tinder. Could he have been using a different dating app? Especially because when the women discussed Connor’s porn addiction on-camera, they kept mentioning he was sending intimate photos on the app — Tinder doesn’t have the option to send photos between matches. Maybe he was on multiple apps, like Bumble, and it was easier to generalize with the most well-known app.
Our biggest question: Will he say something? It’s just one less thing for Whitney to worry about.
Bring Jenna into the Group Chat
Leading up to Taylor giving birth to her third child, she struggled with Dakota’s loyalty; she struggled to believe that he did not have sex with another woman he was dating at the same time as Taylor during the beginning of their relationship. However, the other woman seems to have revealed herself online, Jenna Jarvis.
Our biggest question: While she teased that she would tell us “everything,” she seemingly hasn’t said a peep about their relationship since. What if she was waiting for a season two?
Give Us Sassy Layla and Mikayla
Season one missed a huge opportunity not to highlight Layla and Mikayla’s sassiness, especially since the girls have been girl-ing since the show wrapped up. They needed more screen time between Mikayla teasing Whitney’s group-chat departure and Layla trolling haters criticizing her appearance.
Our biggest question: Will we see more of their zingers on the (bigger) screen?
