The Hunt for Outer Banks Season 5 Is Almost Over

Netflix has given some hints as to the nature of the final season of Outer Banks with new first-look pics and cast announcements. Back in November 2024, it was announced that season 5 would be the show’s last, but that star Chase Stokes would remain “Pogues 4 Life.” Then JJ died, and we learned how long P4L really lasts. Bummer. Now, Netflix has shared that the search for Blackbeard’s treasure will conclude in 2026. Here’s everything we know about Outer Banks season 5’s release date, cast, and potential story.

It’s on sight for Chandler Groff

Two actors have been promoted to series regular for the final season of Outer Banks: Cullen Moss (Sheriff Shoupe) and J. Anthony Crane (Chandler Groff) have gone from recurring to series regular. This suggests the fallout from JJ’s murder will take up a big part of season 5. As it should! Dude killed his own kid, major Kook behavior.

Also returning for Outer Banks season 5 are Chase Stokes (John B.), Madelyn Cline (Sarah), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Drew Starkey (Rafe) and Carlacia Grant (Cleo). Starkey has taken JJ’s place in the core 6 key art. Rafe’s Face Turn looks to be permanent.

What’s going to happen in Outer Banks season 5?

It seems pretty likely that the Pogues will hunt Groff down, retrieve the Blue Crown, and hopefully bring Groff to justice. Or just stone cold shoot him like they did Lightner, either way works.

Also surfing, there will probably be surfing.

When does Outer Banks season 5 come to Netflix?

Right now, we don’t have any firmer of a date than 2026. Most seasons have premiered in the fall, so maybe look out for the show in Q4.
