Robert Irwin Injured His Rib Before DWTS Finale
Ahead of the Dancing with the Stars finale, fan favorite Robert Irwin injured his ribs, and it might possibly affect his performance for the big night. His partner, Witney Carson, explained in a TikTok “Get Ready With Me” video that after 11 weeks of “crazy, vigorous, hard dancing,” the two are feeling the effects of performing on a weekly basis. “My body is feeling it. Robert’s body is feeling it. We’re, like, kind of falling apart right now. Just trying to keep it together for, like, two more days. Literally today and tomorrow, and then it’s over,” Carson shared. “Robert’s ribs have been killing him, and more will be revealed on Tuesday.” For the 3-hour finale tonight, all five couples are performing three dances, including a freestyle performance. Despite the injury, Irwin and Carson have been practicing nonstop. She concluded, “Last night we stayed at the studio till it closed down. Like, they had to kick us out at 9 p.m. We’re gonna have absolutely no regrets by the end of this.”
If Irwin wins the Mirrorball trophy tonight, he will be the second member of his family to do so. His sister, Bindi Irwin, won in 2015 with her partner Derek Hough, who’s now one of the show’s judges. Robert has been one of the favorites throughout the season, with nine out of ten of his dances getting over 900,000 views on YouTube — seven of his dances have over 1 million views, and his Jive has over 9 million views on TikTok.
