President Donald J. Trump announced the formation of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) to enhance American innovation in critical and emerging technologies. Comprising up to 24 leading scientists and technologists from industry, academia, and government, PCAST will provide evidence-based recommendations to the President, emphasizing results-driven excellence and merit-based achievement. This initiative builds upon previous efforts, such as the American AI Initiative and the National Quantum Initiative, aiming to maintain the United States’ position as a global leader in scientific and technological advancements.
