President Trump was touting the idea of Canada as America’s 51st state even before he was elected. Though the original thought was to persuade Canada by using tariffs, he’s now throwing in the bargain chips of of lower taxes, the U.S. Military as their protection, and the U.S. Healthcare system, which he says is much better than Canada’s.
Taxes for Canadians are 36 – 51 percent higher than taxes for Americans because of the type of healthcare system that they have. In addition, Canadians often experience long waiting lists for care from specialists, shortages of equipment, outdated drugs, and staff shortages, according to Heritage Action.
