Trump threatens 100 percent tariffs on BRICS countries

One might wonder if these countries will end up being additional states added to the United States if the BRICS countries react even close to the way that Canada did over the threat of a tariff, and that was only a 25 percent tariff.

BRICS nations include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Ethiopia, Iran, Egypt and the UAE. They want to create their own currency and attempt to oust The United States from its economic mountain top. Trump has taken to his Truth Social account (reposting on his X account) regarding how he intends to handle said ambition.

That being said, India has indicated that it’s not on board with participating in the creating of a new currency.

“Trump’s post is like a forewarning to tread carefully down this road. But at the moment, this is just an idea, and a common BRICS currency is simply not on India’s agenda,” Ajai Sahai, director general of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations told VOA.
