CAIR Calls on Congress to Oppose Trump’s Guantánamo Bay Executive Order
Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, is calling on Congress to oppose Trump’s Guantánamo Bay Executive Order, which directs the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security to expand the prison to hold 30,000. In a press release, the organization said they are calling on congress to reject funding for the project, protect constitutional rights, and close the facility. Trump has said he wants to make Guantánamo Bay a place where illegal immigrants who are criminals can be held.
