Let’s all say it: ‘You shouldn’t be in office’
A recent Daily Caller article contained a phrase that needs to be applied more often concerning today’s “politicians.” That phrase is, “You shouldn’t be in office,” which was spoken by Democratic New York City Councilman Robert Holden. On a Newsmax segment, Holden called upon President Trump to levy criminal charges against Democrat officials opposing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations. Holden accused fellow Democrats of “plotting against Trump” and actively seeking to hinder law enforcement efforts, even though ICE raids are targeting illegal aliens with criminal records. Holden pointed out his colleagues’ lack of support of ICE also meant they had a lack of support for promoting safer streets and reducing crime in the Big Apple.
He stated, “They’re actually plotting against Trump. They started from day one. The state level, the far left, the socialists, are drafting legislation as we speak to try to put up more obstacles and prevent ICE from doing their job. … I hope President Trump and certainly [border czar] Tom Homan come up with actual felonies and charge these elected officials. My party, I want my country back. …”
“When you are going to put up obstacles to prevent ICE from taking criminals off our streets, you shouldn’t be in office. You shouldn’t be a member of leadership in New York City, New York state, or anywhere else in the country. … The people with common sense in this country and many of the people with common sense are Democrats, but they have to speak out like I am doing. Generally, I’m the only one. … There’s one or two of us in the city council out of 51 members that speak out and say, you know, that we want safer streets. We want a safer city; we don’t want criminals running around. We don’t need to import more criminals here in New York City; we have enough. So let’s get this straight and let’s get this right.”
Well, if only two out of 51 council members in New York City want safer streets, let’s all express the truth concerning the other 49 members: “You shouldn’t be in office.”
Let’s see where else this phrase applies.
During Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s confirmation hearing to be secretary of health and human services, socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT, “went bonkers” over slogans he disapproved of appearing on infant onesies, like “Unvaxxed, Unafraid,” and “No Vax, No Problem.” Sanders was described as “unhinged” as he demanded over and over Kennedy answer the question, “Are you supportive of these onesies?” Apparently, Sanders doesn’t like the Constitution guaranteeing freedom of speech.
Interestingly, Kennedy got Sanders’ fur up when the nominee stated, “Almost all the members of this panel are accepting millions of dollars from the pharmaceutical industry and protecting their interests.” Like a cat with its back against the wall, Sanders melted down and responded, “Oh, no.” Kennedy continued, “In 2020, you were the single largest receiver of pharmaceutical money … 1.5 million.” Sanders said, “Yeah, out of 200 million.” So, Sanders admitted that he received large amounts of money from pharmaceutical companies. Breitbart also detailed that Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., also “received significant sums from the health care industry.”
Let’s all say to Sanders, Wyden and Warren, “You shouldn’t be in office.”
Then we have representatives from the land of fruits and nuts like Democratic California Rep. Norma Torres. After the tragic commercial airplane and military helicopter accident in Washington, D.C., Torres fired off politically driven tweets on X attributing the aviation disaster to Trump’s executive orders concerning a federal hiring freeze. Torres missed the fact that the Trump administration notably exempted air traffic controllers from the hiring freeze, according to an official. Torres stood by her tweets and even posted that Trump fired the heads of the Coast Guard and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as her proof. Apparently, even though Torres is a government official, she doesn’t know that the TSA is overseen by the Department of Homeland Security, not the Federal Aviation Administration, which oversees civilian aviation. Even former Department of Transportation Inspector General Mary Schiavo told CNN that executive actions related to an alleged hiring freeze did not contribute to the midair collision.
It is amazingly sad that Democrats in their zeal for political power would twist and use horrific accidents to cast slurs upon their political opponents. Let’s apply our phrase to Rep. Torres: “You shouldn’t be in office.”
Next we have leftist L.A. Democrat Mayor Karen Bass, who stated the major priority in rebuilding the 12,000 buildings (mostly homes) destroyed in recent fires is that the program is “equitable and environmentally sustainable,” using an outside consultant firm. The Independent Sentinel reported she made her decision “without any consultant with the residents.” New hire chief recovery officer Steve Soboroff explained, “The firm will represent the city’s interests in the wildfire recovery process, including performing damage assessments, monitoring air and water quality, interacting with various federal agencies, and ensuring that the city gets as much federal reimbursement as possible.” Soboroff hinted that “he’d control the federal money.” I wonder how many pockets are going to get padded with this one.
Elon Musk warns, “The mayor of L.A. is going full communist. … Recall her before it is too late.” A HotAir commentary states that L.A.’s catastrophic response to the fires has caused leftist radicals to revolt, with 43% saying they would consider Republican leadership – but 46% said they would not, which goes to prove it’s difficult thing to fix willful ignorance. Fortunately, there is a new recall campaign against Gov. Gavin Newsom who ridiculously thanked Bass for her excellent work.
Let’s all express our opinion of Mayor Bass and Gov. Newsom: “You shouldn’t be in office.”
There are so many more like Hakeem Jeffries, Maxine Waters and The Squad to whom we need to express, “You shouldn’t be in office.”
The voting populace needs to wake up during the 2026 primary season and remove these people from the ballot, and then elect representatives who truly will represent the people.
