WATCH: Megyn Kelly predicts how courts will rule on Dems’ legal action against Trump to upend wasteful agencies
SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly predicted Tuesday on her show that Democrats’ efforts to block President Donald Trump’s administration through the courts will backfire, adding that the majority of the cases will go in the president’s favor.
On Monday, Democrats coined a term against Trump, with The New York Times reporting that a handful of legal scholars said Trump’s efforts to clean up government waste are causing a “constitutional crisis.” On “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly said the Democrats appear to believe they’ve found “the speed bump they’ve been looking for,” adding that they have filed dozens of lawsuits against Trump.
Kelly went on to say that while the Trump administration has been adhering to judges’ orders, there will only be a “constitutional crisis” if Trump’s team refuses to listen.
“The Trump administration, I think, is going to do it. They haven’t said, ‘We’re not going to do it,’” Kelly said. “If the judge says do it and the Trump team says, ‘We refuse,’ then we’re closer to actually having a crisis between the branches. This judge is going to get overruled. The executive branch is allowed to control a lot of how the money gets spent, whether it gets spent.”

“They can’t shut down entire agencies that are authorized by Congress, but they do have a lot of control over money and whether to spend it. I realize that these various plaintiffs don’t like that,” Kelly added. “The Democrats don’t like that. But it’s going to play out in the courts.”
“I think in, as I said last night, nine out of 10 of these cases is going to go Trump’s way. So we are not at a constitutional crisis yet. He has not flipped the bird to any judge telling him he must do something yet. Who has done that? Joe Biden. That actually was Joe Biden. I don’t remember these same people freaking out.”
Pushback against Trump’s agenda began after he signed executive orders on Jan. 20 to terminate birthright citizenship and freeze foreign aid. By Feb. 3, the Department of Government Efficiency’s Elon Musk announced during an X space discussion that he and Trump had agreed to upend the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and move it under the leadership of Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Reports regarding USAID spending later said that billions of taxpayer dollars were being wasted on international programs, some of which engaged in left-wing social engineering abroad and had a high risk of landing in the Taliban’s hands, as well as aiding an organization linked to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
However, during former President Joe Biden’s term, he had suggested a sweeping overhaul of the U.S. Supreme Court following the court’s ruling on Trump’s immunity case.
