High egg prices are not the result of Trump’s tariffs
While mainstream media wants to blame the high cost of eggs and other products on President Trump’s tariffs, the cost of eggs has nothing to do with the tariffs. Avian Bird Flu began ramping up during the last year of former President Biden’s time in office. The only way farmers have to deal with the virus once the chickens get it is to kill off the chickens. About 7 million birds were affected in November, 18 million in December, and 23 million in January, according to the latest figures from the USDA picked up by ABC News.
This has led to a shortage of eggs in all 50 states, with many stores implementing purchase limits and high prices. The average price for a dozen of eggs ranges from $4.95 – $7.00 per dozen, and the price is expected to continue to increase.
