The Democrats descend into madness

If nothing else has happened over the last three months, it’s become clear the depths of insanity to which Democrats are willing to descend in an effort to oppose anything and everything Trump does. It doesn’t matter what the Orange Man proposes. If he’s for it, the Democrats are against it.

Because Democrats have no policy that hasn’t failed, they’ve gone in the opposite direction. Rather than attempting to find solutions that work in an effort to neutralize the Trump agenda, they are doubling down and clinging more violently to the core foci of their platform. Their attacks include really stupid stuff. Consider their recent meltdown over the fact that Trump wore a blue (rather than black) suit to the pope’s funeral, conveniently ignoring the fact that Joe Biden, Prince William, all 14 pallbearers and approximately half the male guests in attendance also wore blue suits.

Frankly, it’s stuff like this that’s going a long way toward making the left look stupid. Vandalizing Teslas and swatting conservatives “are only the dying screams of a bankrupt political movement that has no proposals, no ideas, and no goals except the obtaining of power – now through the use of violence because its political support has dropped to such record lows,” according to this piece, which also points out such actions do far more harm than good. Not only are Democrats NOT winning converts to their cause, they are making enemies of people who were once on their side.

In short, the left has succeeded in presenting themselves as lunatics. The harder they push clearly unpopular causes – men in women’s sports, defending violent criminals, opposing the deportation of sadistic gang members – the more they are pushing away their own party members.

The interesting thing is how many leftists are warning against this extremism. Recently, a new poll revealed voters are tired of the anti-Trump resistance, even in deep-blue California: “Leaders are supposed to offer solutions and find compromises that get things done. Democrats offer nothing but outrage and protests, and people are sick of it.” (Here’s one GenZer explaining why her generation will never vote for the left again.)

So why aren’t Democrats offering solid, constructive alternatives to the agenda of the current administration? Why are they descending into potty-mouthed screaming lunatics rather than offering grave, intellectual alternatives to attacking the $37 trillion national debt or the massive fraud and abuse endemic in the federal government? Decades ago, such leftist luminaries as Nancy Pelosi and Nobel Prize economist Paul Krugman were all in favor of tariffs and reining in Chinese dominance. Now? Crickets.

I suspect the reason behind much of the silence has to do with “follow the money.” Whether the money trail leads to China’s CCP or questionable NGOs, a lot of leftists are seeing their taxpayer-funded gravy train drying up. “Panic hits Democrats as Trump goes after their money and infrastructure,” notes this column. “Shutting down the pipeline of federal money into shady NGOs and non-profits is, in my opinion, one of the critical reasons we haven’t seen riots in the streets and mobs in front of Trump officials’ homes. … What makes this different is what seems to be money laundering and borderline identity theft involved in using the names of random people to cover donations.”

As James Woods tweeted, “Why Democrats love illegal aliens: For every 770,000 illegals who filled out the 2010 U.S. Census in a sanctuary city or state, the Democrats got another seat in the U.S. House of Representatives apportioned to them! Now do you understand why the Democratic Party likes sanctuaries and open borders?” No wonder they’re mad at Trump.

And through it all, Democrats are gaslighting their way into obscurity, rewriting history and pretending their policies weren’t why Trump was elected in the first place. “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg actually told her audience that Trump is destroying the “very robust” economy he supposedly inherited. How quickly she assumes we forgot the devastating effects of Bidenomics and the 9% inflation we faced under Biden. This same intellectual giant also thinks those opposing men in women’s sports “don’t know anything’ about female anatomy” (a rant, incidentally, that left “even trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney grimacing in stunned silence“).

“Faced with an American public that seems to like almost everything that Mr. Trump is doing,” writes columnist Robert Knight, “the progressive movement has come to a fork in the road. One path leads to restoring common sense and abandoning radical causes. The other path is a greased chute paved with policies that Americans have come to loathe.”

Guess which path the Democrats are taking?

“The Democratic Party is collapsing under the weight of its own radicalism,” observes columnist Rich Welsh. “Their strategy is failing, their approval ratings are disintegrating, and they keep fighting losing battles.”

Democrats have demonstrated that they’re rabid misogynists, science deniers, warmongers and blatantly in favor of government bloat, corruption and graft. They’ve shown themselves to support rapists, murderers, human traffickers and drug smugglers. Tell me, is there anything good and wholesome the party represents, besides “joy”?

As a result of this lunacy from the left, the nation is realigning itself in ways never seen before. Even Trump-hating leftists are begging Democrats to tone down the insanity, reminding them why they lost so badly in 2024. A stunned former Clinton pollster noted that crucial voter groups are fleeing the Democratic Party. “I’ve never seen anything like this in over 40 years of polling. The Democratic Party ratings have collapsed from a 47% favorable down to 29%, 27% in some of these polls, and that’s an incredible loss of moderate, working-class voters,” he said.

Of course, many on the right are cheering on this cluelessness. “Keep it up!” is the sentiment. No one will ever vote in a Democrat in the future if they keep pushing wildly unpopular goals.

Unless and until the Dems can come up with solid, concrete steps to, y’know, do something GOOD for America, they’re going to continue to lose party members and elections in droves. And then they’ll wonder what hit them.
