Delays on southbound I-95 in Northern Virginia following fatal crash
Traffic stalled on southbound Interstate 95 in Northern Virginia with delays stretching from Lorton to Dumfries following a deadly crash Tuesday.
Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that happened just after 2:30 p.m. on the southbound 95 Express Lanes at the 152 mile marker in Prince William County.
An SUV that was stopped on the right shoulder was struck by the driver of a work truck that went off on the right side of the road.
The driver of the SUV was killed and the passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, state police said.
The 95 Express Lanes were closed between Dumfries and Quantico for several hours, with one lane opening just after 6 p.m.
