McGregor: The boxing game is easy!
Conor McGregor says compared to MMA, boxing is a breeze.
If there's one thing I can tell you about Conor McGregor, it's that he won't be making any fans in the boxing world the way he constantly derides or dismisses the sport. From saying the sport is only a half-a-fight to not real fighting at all, it's pretty apparent that McGregor — at least at face value — really thinks he can just step into the ring and dominate.
In this interview caught by FightHub, a reporter asks McGregor about the trouble Nate Diaz was able to give him considering that Diaz has some boxing background in his game.
"Look post-fight at [Diaz's] face. Look at the fight as a whole...it was a couple slaps off the shoulders, I caught a lot of 'em. People were reading off the old script. People were reading of the original fight, the first fight, when they were calling that contest. So, in my opinion I slaughtered him in that rematch. He'll never be the same after that.
"You must understand these gloves probably weight four ounce. There's no padding on the elbows, there's no padding on the shin bone, on the foot. It's like going through a car crash - a 5 minute round in MMA. That's why I'm saying this here: this game is easy! I'm telling you right now. I wake up feeling so good...and I'm getting in super shape."
