SPFL attendances show Scottish football is more than just Celtic and Rangers
August 26 – The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has announced a record attendance figure for the league after the first two rounds of fixtures with 230,204 fans attending matches across the league’s four divisions.
This is a jump of more than 55,000 supporters on the same period last year and an increase of 7% on the previous SPFL high for the opening two league weekends of 215,492 for the season 2015/16.
This follows an opening round attendance record last week for the 12 team Ladbrokes Premiership clubs which saw 110,583 fans attend first six top-flight matches of the 2017/18 season.
