Mayweather says McGregor could be fined up to ‘90 percent’ of his purse if he kicks him in the head

Floyd Mayweather is very confident Conor McGregor won’t throw any kicks on Aug. 26.

The details haven’t been revealed, but expect Conor McGregor to face a ‘heavy fine’ if he throws a kick or any other mixed martial arts technique in his 12-round boxing showdown against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Aug. 26.

Mayweather and McGregor will compete under Queensberry boxing rules at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and ‘Money’ says the Irishman would ‘probably’ lose 90 percent of his purse if he decides to fight dirty.

“That’s a fine, that’s a huge fine,” Mayweather told Jimmy Kimmel after being asked what would happen if McGregor kicked him in the head. “I don’t think he’d want to lose, probably 90 percent of his money or even more.

“I don’t know what it’s gonna be, but it’s gonna be a heavy fine.”

Although it’s highly unlikely that McGregor will throw a kick, many expect the UFC lightweight champion to use unorthodox movement techniques to throw ‘The Best Ever’ off guard.

During the May-Mac media world tour, Mayweather said he would be game to fight ‘The Notorious’ in the Octagon, and the 40-year-old boxing great didn’t rule out the possibility when asked by Kimmel on Tuesday night.

“As of right now, we gotta get past August 26,” Mayweather said. “Once we get past August 26, then we can talk about other things.”

McGregor, 29, plans to rule boxing and MMA with an ‘iron left fist’ after shocking the world against Mayweather.

The boxing spectacle takes place later this month, Aug. 26, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
