Abdulkhay Sharakhmatov to make pro debut in February

0
It seems that 2020 is going to be a huge year for former amateur fighters heading to the pros. We've already seen Keisuke Matsumoto [松本圭佑] announce he was turning professional, and then Jasurbek Latipov announced that he would be kicking off his professional career on February 1st.

Now
Abdulkhay Sharakhmatov (0-0) is setting sail on his professional journey, with his debut pencilled in for February 8th.

Although not one of the big elite names of the Uzbek scene Sharakhmatov is a 3 time Uzbek national champion, who took home gold at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games, in Baku. He also competed in the World Series Boxing, going 6-0, and was in a number of notable international tournaments last year, reaching the final of the well regarded Strandja tournament.

The 23 year old Sharakhmatov, who will be fighting in and around the Super Bantamweight division, is pencilled in to make his debut in the Philippines on February 8th, against Benjie Ebido (0-2).

After the Ebido bout the fighter is expected to fight in the UK, as he's has reportedly signed a contract with British promoter Frank Warren.

A huge thanks to Jalol Akhmedov (who can be followed on twitter @JalolAkhmedov) for bringing the details of Sharakhmatov's debut and promotional contract to our attention.
