Ulugbek Mubinov becomes latest Uzbek to turn pro!
| The always great Jalol Akhmedov reported more Uzbek news earlier today, revealing that experienced amateur Ulugbek Mubinov (0-0) has become the latest Uzbek to signal their professional intent. The very highly experienced 25 year old Mubinov will be making his professional debut on February 1st after signing with a Russian promoter, who also deals with Rustam Tulaganov. As an amateur Mubinov won several notable tournaments, and was a multi-time winner at the prestigious Sidney Jackson Memorial, as well winning an Uzbek national title. At 6'4" and fighting at Heavyweight he has the size and amateur background to be moved pretty swiftly through the pro ranks if his Russian team are willing to back him properly. At the time of writing his opponent for his debut hasn't yet been confirmed. Related - Sidney Jackson - The Grandfather of Uzbek boxing |
