MANCHESTER UNITED’S new home kit for 202-21 has been released – with the adidas strip set for its first look against LASK.
The Red Devils take on the Austrian minnows in the second-leg of their last-16 Europa League tie on Wednesday night.
Man Utd’s home shirt for the 2020-21 has been released by adidas[/caption] The latest effort from adidas is designed to reflect the ‘Man Utd DNA’[/caption] The new jersey was inspired by the club crest, claim adidas[/caption] The red strip has flecks of yellow and black throughout[/caption]With just hours to go before the match, fans have been given their first official glimpse of the new jersey.
The kit manufacturer claim to have put the heart and soul of the club at the focus of the new shirt, which is the traditional red, with adidas’ iconic white stripes along the shoulders.
The kit is finished with a pair of white shorts and black socks.
A statement from the sportswear giants said they wanted to follow Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s desire to stay true to the “Manchester United DNA”.
Adidas have even incorporated the club’s name into the pattern on the new jersey.

It read: “The ‘Manchester United DNA’ has been a focus for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his team.
“And the home jersey for the forthcoming 2020/21-season aims to encapsulate the DNA of the club.
“[It uses ]the threads of the club crest itself to produce a subtly patterned base fabric.
“Taking influence from the intricacies of the yarn-stitched application onto the shirt, a fine graphic print provides a unique pattern and detailing onto a colour-block background.
“The name of the club is also proudly engineered into the print, visible through the use of different red tones.”
Daniel James and Co will wear the strip for the first time against LASK[/caption] Scott McTominay modelled the new adidas strip for next season[/caption] Aaron Wan-Bissaka also got his hands on the new kit early for the big reveal[/caption]Adidas design director at adidas, Inigo Turner, explained: “For this season, we researched the values and iconography that connect athlete and fan.
“We looked to fuse these with modernity and innovation, to create something that connects the people and stands for unity.
“We pretty quickly landed on the crest as it is the representation of the heart and passion of the club.

“It is significant as the first component added to each design, and one that makes up the threads of the shirt design for the 2020-21 season.”
The new kit will also feature HEAT.RDY – KEEP COOL technology, “adidas’ cooling innovation that keeps the wearer feeling dry and confident in the game.”

Wider release with select retailers will be available from 11 August 2020.
