What Cathy Freeman's 400m gold at the Sydney Olympics meant to me as a young Aboriginal boy

It was shortly before the Sydney Olympics that I realised Cathy Freeman and I were both Aboriginal. Pride swelled in my chest and I screamed at the TV as she won the 400m gold.
