Uzbek hopefuls planning October bouts
Earlier today our good friend Jalol Akhmedov reported a number of highly regarded Uzbek prospects were planning their next bouts for October. Sadly no specific date or opponents were revealed but the 4 Uzbek fighters he mentioned are very much worthy of attention as their career begin to move forward.
Patriot Boxing members: Rio olympics bronze medalist Rustam Tulanganov(3-0, 1KO) , National champions Odiljon Aslonov (2-0, 1KO), Ulugbek Mubinov(1-0, 1KO), Asian championship bronze medalist Shukurjon Rahimov(1-0) are planned to return in October in Russia. pic.twitter.com/jzdIU9mTqt

The talented Rustam Tulaganov (3-0, 1) is regarded as one of the most talented Uzbek's out there. He's technically very good, with solid hand speed, movement and a great boxing brain, but he does seem to lack that spiteful power we've seen from some of his compatriots. Despite the lack of lights of power he is an excellent prospect and we expect to see him taking on a live opponent to try build on his February win over Norbert Dabrowski. Potentially he'll be fighting for a regional or minor title.
Welterweight prospect Odiljon Aslonov (2-0, 1) is a 25 year old who is built like a tank. His first two bouts have come against solid competition, for someone so early in his career, and they had a combined 27-20 record. At just 25 years old there is no need to rush him, but we suspect he will be moved into 8 round bouts sooner, rather than later.
Talented 26 year old Heavyweight Ulugbek Mubinov (1-0, 1) looks to build on his February debut, where he stopped Srdan Govedarica in February. He's a big, strong, powerful fighter who, at 6'4" is a huge guy worthy of real attention. Given that he's a Heavyweight he's pretty much a baby at 26 and there is no need to move him too quickly, with a smarter plan being to let his body fill out rather than rushing him.
The youngest of the men mentioned by Jalol is Shukurjon Rahimov (1-0), a stand out amateur star who claimed a bronze at the Asian Championships before his February debut against Ripfumelo Chikwambana. He's a Super Featherweight who debuted in a 6 rounder and is likely to be in another 6 rounder her as he develops his man strength and gets some more professional experience under his belt.
Notably all 4 of these Uzbek hopefuls fought on the same card last time out, in February 1st, and we suspect they will come as a group of 4 going forward, with grouped appearances on PAtriot cards, suggesting all 4 will be on the same October card. Though that is just an educated guess.
