Results from Over Heat Boxer's Night 93

0
Earlier today Korakuen Hall played host to the latest show in the Flash Akabane series of "Over Heat Boxers Night" shows. The event wasn't a big one, or a deep one, but did feature 5 bouts and had fans in attendance.

The show began with an all debutant 4 rounder that saw Masaki Nakano (1-0) [仲野 真稀] take a split decision win over Masayuki Hayashi (0-1) [林 雅之]. The bout's winner was decided in the final seconds of the contest, with Nakano dropping Hayashi late in round 4, securing a 10-8 round and the win. The scorecards for this were 38-37, twice to Nakano and once to Hayashi.

The second bout on the show saw Tomonori Nagao (2-0) [長尾 朋範] record a clear decision win as he over-came Yuta Kato (1-4) [加藤 裕太]. The scores for this were 40-36, twice, and 39-37, all in favour of Nagao.

The third bout on the card was a fantastic 8 round Featherweight bout that saw Yosuke Kawano (14-9-2, 8) [河野 洋佑] end a 2-fight losing streak as he stopped Daichi Matsuura (7-6-2, 3) [松浦 大地]. Kawano looked to take the early initiative but Matsuura wasn't going to go away and in round 3 Matsuura moved through the gears, dropping Kawano the following round. It seemed like Matsuura was on the verge of a stoppage but Kawano managed to make his way through to the bell. The following round Kawano tried to turn it around before the two men embroiled in a brutal back and forth brawl in round 6. This left Kawano bloodied, from a clash of heads, which needed a doctor to look at it before allowing the bout to continue for more brilliant violence in round 7. Despite being down earlier in the bout, and cut, Kawano was all heart and, with just over  a minute left, rocked Matsuura with a series of right hands that forced the referee to jump in and stop the bout.

The chief support bout saw another stoppage as Joji Tsuchiya (10-5-3, 6) [土屋ジョウジ] took out Shoma Sekine (5-7-2, 2) [関根 翔馬] in the 4th round of their scheduled 8 rounder. Early on Tsuchiya used his height well, before Sekine managed to get closer, where he was expected to do well. Sadly for Sekine he failed to turn the action around up close and was actually dropped by an uppercut up close, forcing his team to throw in the towel.

The main event was another early finish as the popular Zirolian Riku (11-3, 10) [ジロリアン陸] stopped Kanta Takenaka (7-6-1, 2) [竹中 関汰] inside a round. Riku landed a brilliant right hand counter that sent Takenaka crashing to the canvas, with the referee quickly calling off the bout the knockdown.

There was a 6th bout scheduled for the show, between Yuji Okinori (10-5-2, 3)[興法 裕二] and Fire Ikkyu (6-3-1, 4) [ファイヤー一休]. Although this bout is listed on Boxrec it was cancelled a while back with Ikkyu pulling out well in advance of the event.
