Thananchai and Pigmy make weight for WBC regional title bout

Tomorrow on WorkPoint TV in Thailand we'll get the chance to see  WBC Asian Boxing Council Flyweight champion Thananchai Charunphak (10-1, 8) defending his title against veteran Pigmy Kokietgym (61-13-2, 25), aka Wicha Phulaikhao.

Today the two men took part for the weigh in for their bout, and on the scales both men made the 112lb limit for the bout, coming in dead on the limit.

Despite the fact both men came in at the same weight they looked very different at the weigh in.

The fresh faced 20 year old Thananchai looked in great shape, he looked young, tall, lean, and like a man on his way up through the ranks heading towards the world rankings. He looked like a man who hasn't had a hard or punishing career, but is instead a man who is at the start of his career, a career that promises a lot.

​Pigmy on the other hand looked old, small, balding and like a man that, in fairness, they'd pulled off the street with the promise of food. He looked like someone who father time hadn't been nice to and looked like he should have been several weight classes lower than Thananchai. It really didn't look like he was ready to fight a rising, and very highly regarded prospect.
