Winners (Columbia) and losers (UConn) from the 2024 women's NCAA tournament bracket reveal
The bracket is out. March Madness is officially here for women’s college basketball.
South Carolina — to the surprise of no one — is the overall No. 1 seed in the 2024 women’s NCAA tournament, which begins Friday on the homecourts of the top 16 seeds. The Gamecocks completed their second straight undefeated regular season and won the SEC Tournament. Joining Dawn Staley’s team on the 1-seed line is Caitlin Clark and Iowa, USC and Texas.
This tournament field also features really solid mid-majors, like a Fairfield team that has won 29 straight games under second-year coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis. The Stags are seeded 13th and will face 4-seed Indiana in the first round.
