Drake showed up to Houston’s March Madness party and fans worried about the return of his curse
If you’re a fan of a championship-caliber college basketball team, there is undoubtedly one famous person you don’t want to see hanging around them, and that is Drake. There is no debate. With that in mind, I am so sorry for anyone rooting for the Houston Cougars in the men’s NCAA Tournament.
As Houston celebrated earning the No. 1 seed in the South Region, Drake crashed the team’s party and was gifted his own jersey. It’s all well and good that the rapper wants to ride the coattails of another good sports team. But my goodness, the Cougars are probably testing fate by having him and his usually bad mojo hang around the team before the tournament.
Seriously, given the history of the “Drake curse,” this might be one of the last sights you want to see as a Houston fan. It is worth noting that Drake has had better luck lately, as he famously (and successfully) bet on the Los Angeles Rams to win Super Bowl 46, the Denver Nuggets to win the 2023 NBA Finals, and the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl 58.
The Cougars will be one of the favorites to make a run to the Final Four, but they may have inadvertently ruined their chances with Drake’s appearance. They just have to hope that Drake tests his recent luck and actually bets on them.
