Alex Perez reasserted himself back in the flyweight division on Saturday with a UFC on ESPN 55 main event win over Matheus Nicolau.

After suffering three consecutive losses and much personal adversity, former title challenger Perez (24-8 MMA, 6-4 UFC) righted the ship with a second-round knockout victory over Nicolau (19-4-1 MMA, 7-3 UFC) at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
