OSU star running back arrested on DUI charge

CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — Oklahoma State University's star running back was arrested by Oklahoma Highway Patrol on charges including DUI early Sunday morning.

According to an affidavit, Ollie Gordon II was stopped by an OHP trooper at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, after the trooper reportedly clocked Gordon's car going 82 mph on I-35 southbound near SW 19th Street. The posted speed limit in that are is 65 mph.

When the trooper approached Gordon's car during the traffic stop, he allegedly smelled strongly of alcohol and was asked by the trooper to come back to the patrol car.

The affidavit says Gordon denied drinking any alcohol before driving, but said his friends had been drinking. Gordon allegedly refused to take a sobriety test before admitting to having one drink.

After reportedly telling the trooper he had open containers in his car, the trooper found two bottles of liquor in the car.

Gordon then allegedly refused to take a sobriety test again, and was arrested on charges of DUI under 21 years of age, transporting open containers of alcohol, failure to maintain a single lane of traffic, and speeding 16 to 20 mph over the speed limit.

Gordon was booked into the Cleveland County Jail following his arrest, and blew a 0.11 and 0.10 during a breathalyzer test, according to the affidavit.
