Team Germany roster: Meet the FIBA World Cup champions who can win at the 2024 Paris Olympics
United States men’s basketball are expected to win gold at the Olympics, but the defending world champions in hoops are actually from Germany.
While we expected Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner would emerge as one of the best players in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, it was still fairly unexpected when Germany won the entire tournament. They beat Team USA in the semifinals and will return 10 of their 12 rostered players (including the entire rotation) for the Olympics.
Dennis Schröder was named an All-Star and MVP of the tournament while Wagner got a nod for All-Second Team. Are they able to keep up that momentum now that they have advanced out of group play and will compete in the quarterfinals?
