Golf tips, free bets and latest odds for the BMW Championship
The fifty hopefuls still eyeing the $18million bonus awaiting this year’s FedEx Cup champion tee it up in Colorado this week,
Surprise, surprise, Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele dominate the market for the BMW Championship, after continuing their stellar seasons by both finishing in the top four at the opening play-off event last week.

But Hideki Matsuyama’s victory at the St Jude Classic showed they can be taken on – and beaten.
And this is a bit of a step into the unknown for the entire field. Castle Pines near Denver is nicknamed the Mile High Course because of its high altitude – which can play real tricks with the golf ball.
It is likely to travel around ten per cent further than usual, which makes the 8,150 yards monster play a lot shorter. There has not been a PGA Tour event here in almost twenty years, so it will take some getting used to.
That is a recipe for a shock result. So let’s look outside the big two and check out the value elsewhere.

Golf tips
The player who jumps out is 28/1 shot Wyndham Clark. He seems to have rediscovered the mojo that made him US Open champion last year, and one of the top three or four in the game in the first half of this season.
Clark appeared to go AWOL after winning at Pebble Beach and chasing home Scheffler at Bay Hill and The Players.
Missed cuts at three of the four Majors – and a share of 56th as defending champion at the US Open – were a shocking return.
But Clark remains fifth in the world rankings, and three top tens in his last five starts suggests another win is on the horizon. His big-hitting game is perfect for Castle Pines.
Jason Day also caught the eye at the St Jude. He got off to a slow start but followed up with rounds of 65-67.
He is the only player who has played tournament golf at Castle Pines, – although it was way back in 2006. Still, it will be more familiar to him than anyone else, and the Aussie looks nicely priced at 55/1.
And Patrick Cantlay, who often seems to hit form for the play-offs, looked like he might be at it again after he also shrugged off a poor start at the St Jude to claim a share of 12th.
Cantlay, who won the BMW in 2021 and 2022 at different courses. will not need to improve much on last week’s effort to reward each way support at 20/1.

Rory McIlroy had a shocker last week, beating only one player in the 70-man line-up. He could easily bounce back here – but is just as likely to blow up again. So he should be avoided.
Open runner-up Billy Horschel is on a great run of form, and he looks tempting at 40/1. And among the outsiders, the two I like are Taylor Pendrith and Austin Eckroat.
Byron Nelson winner Pendrith has made the top five twice in his last three starts, while Eckroat has consistently impressed in only his second season on Tour, He needs a good finish here to make it to next week’s Tour Championship.
