Arsenal secure last ditch Raheem Sterling loan transfer after ace was cast out by Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca
RAHEEM Sterling has completed a season-long loan move from Chelsea to Arsenal.
The clubs announced the move almost three hours after the Premier League transfer closed.
The former Chelsea forward, who has 82 England caps, was told he had no future at Stamford Bridge after being cast out of the squad by Enzo Maresca.
The transfer window closed at 11pm on Friday, but clubs are able to submit outstanding documentation to complete deals if they have submitted deal sheets on time.
Sterling, 29, was previously linked with a move to Manchester United to replace Jadon Sancho, but that did not materialise.
A move to the Emirates will see Sterling boost his chances of game time this season.
Sterling has enjoyed a mostly successful career in the Premier League.
He has won four league titles at Manchester City and one FA Cup.
Among moves which could still go ahead, Jadon Sancho is poised to make his way from Manchester United to Stamford Bridge on a loan deal with an obligation to buy, according to reports.
The Blues had already suffered a blow on deadline day after it was reported Al-Ahli were closing in on BOTH their striker targets, Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney.
Brentford striker Ivan Toney, 28, later completed a late deal to the Saudi Pro League club worth a reported £40million.

England forward Toney attracted interest from Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, and has not featured in a Bees matchday squad this season ahead of a potential move.
Confirming the move in a club statement, Brentford head coach Thomas Frank said: “I’m happy he has an opportunity to try something new in his life and career.”
