Todd Bowles gave a bad answer on why the Buccaneers didn't go for two-point conversion

When you’re facing a juggernaut like the Kansas City Chiefs, you sometimes have to take risks.

Because if you don’t? The result that happened on Monday night goes down, and there’s regret to be had.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored a touchdown with 27 seconds left, and the extra point would tie the game at 24. Now, everyone on social media wanted the Bucs to go for two. And why not? The team had the Chiefs on their heels, and there was no doubt Patrick Mahomes would lead the team on a drive to win the game in overtime (just ask Baker Mayfield, whose face said it all at the coin toss).

But, no. Todd Bowles went for the kick, the game went to overtime and his team lost.

So what was his explanation?

“With the wet conditions on the field, we felt like we had to go to overtime,” he said.

What? Really? You were worried about a slip at the goal line? Wouldn’t that also be a concern with a wet ball on the extra point? Just say you played it safe and it failed.

Andy Reid had a better answer:
