All racing ABANDONED at UK course that boasts all-weather track after it is buried under three inches of snow
ALL racing has been abandoned at a UK course due to snow… despite it boasting an all-weather track.
Southwell Racecourse has been forced to close after being hit with a mighty three inches of frosted ice.

But fans were left devastated when chiefs abandoned all racing due to the adverse conditions.
An initial warning was put out to punters this morning on social media.
The message read: “We have called a 10am track inspection for racing this evening, after more snow than expected overnight.
“Local roads are accessible and are expected to remain so.”
Two hours later fans were told to potentially expect the worse.
Southwell Racecourse tweeted: “Following 3” of snow overnight the track remains unraceable.
“However we have seen significant improvement. A further inspection will be held at 11:30 a.m. We are cautiously optimistic.”

But unfortunately for horse racing lovers, their day out was brutally scrapped.
A final message read: “RACING ABANDONED. Temperatures not rising sufficiently enough to get snow/ice out of the surface.
“All efforts now are concentrated on delivering Thursday evening’s race meeting.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused. All ticket holders will receive further details shortly.”
Fans did not appear to be happy with the decision though.
One said: “Starting to get the feeling UK racing should call it a day.”
Another declared: “So all-weather surface isn’t actually all weather.”
One noted: “There’s more snow in my freezer.”
Another added: “Not a cover in sight.”
