Seahawks won't see resistance from Bears in continued playoff pursuit: Thursday night football predictions

0

The Seattle Seahawks need a lot of things to go right to get into the postseason.

After dropping consecutive games, to the Packers and Vikings, their 8-7 record is one game behind the Los Angeles Rams for first place in the NFC West — their only path to a playoff spot — and the Rams already own a win over them. So, even winning their last two games may not be enough without a little help.

Regardless, the Seahawks have a chance. That’s something we can’t say about the Chicago Bears, who have lost nine straight games going into Thursday night’s meeting with Seattle. The performances have gotten worse with each loss. Four of the streak’s first six losses came by single digits. The last three since Chicago fired Matt Eberflus have all come by at least 17 points. The wheels have cometh off.

The Seahawks haven’t exactly been sharp of late, but they are 6-2 against teams with losing records and 5-1 on the road. And though running back Kenneth Walker has been ruled out with an ankle injury, Zach Charbonnet has maybe been a little better this season at 4.3 yards per carry. Add the completely different stakes each team has on the line, and it’s hard to imagine this isn’t a game the Seahawks win and cover as four-point road favorites.
