Thomas Brown's explanation for his 4th quarter timeout vs. the Seahawks is a bunch of baloney

0

Thomas Brown can’t be serious. He just can’t be.

The Bears have lost 10 straight games, and the lousy decision-making that got Matt Eberflus canned is rearing its ugly head again. While trailing the Seahawks, 6-3, with just over two minutes left in the fourth, a false start forced the Bears into a fourth-and-five. It seemed that Chicago was waving the white flag and punting…until they weren’t. Brown called a timeout and sent Caleb Williams and the offense back onto the field to convert the down. They got it, but it looked like chaos and total confusion.

After the game, he was asked about that moment, and his explanation makes zero sense. “There wasn’t confusion at all,” Brown said. “I just changed my mind.” When pressed about the decision again, he explained that he wanted to be more aggressive. Thomas, please. LIE TO THE PEOPLE. Tell them ANYTHING but that. You burned a timeout and seemed totally unorganized with the game on the line. “I changed my mind” cannot be your answer to that as a head coach. IT JUST CAN’T BE.
