ATHENS —It took Waverly a half to settle in against New Lexington, and more than anything, the Tigers had to figure out a way to stop the Panthers’ Eli Stephens. After halftime, Waverly was able to clamp down on Stephens, and the Tigers’ offense, led by sophomore Kage Alexander, was able to find more of a rhythm after struggling in the first half.
