Police search for suspect in NH mall kidnapping, assault

HARTFORD, Vt. (AP) — State police in Vermont say they're working with other law enforcement agencies on a search for a man wanted for crimes including kidnapping and sexual assault.

Vermont State Police said in a statement on Sunday they're working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Hartford Police Department on a search for 41-year-old Everett Simpson, who was most recently a resident of St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

The state police say a man later identified as Simpson forced a woman and her child into their car outside the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester and drove to Vermont.

Police ask anyone with information call 911 or their nearest police department. They advise people use extreme caution and not approach Simpson.
