Shenendehowa girls get victory

Catherine Almeida scored 24 points to help Shenendehowa roll past Suburban rival Colonie 67-45 on Friday in a girls' basketball contest in Colonie.

Shenendehowa held a slim 20-19 lead at the end of the first quarter but outscored Colonie 39-22 over the next two periods to put away the game. The Plainsmen climbed to 11-2 and sit atop the Suburban's Blue Division at 8-1.

Kyara Triblet scored 13 points to lead the Garnet Raiders, who dropped to 8-4 and 5-3 in league play.
